Waste Expo Australia is returning to Melbourne this October

Waste Expo Australia will take over the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre October 23-24 – assembling the largest line up of suppliers and speakers in the event’s history.
Over two days, the waste management and resource recovery sectors will have access to more than 120 leading suppliers, including Caterpillar, Hitachi, Steinert, Applied Machinery, Cleanaway, Lincom, Wastemaster, Bio Elektra, STG Global, Joest and many more who will be showcasing the latest product solutions evolving the sector.
Alongside the largest exhibition in the events history, is the most comprehensive free-to-attend-conference that will feature more than 100 industry leading speakers offering more than 35 hours of content across three stages.
The conferences will feature six targeted waste streams in the Waste Summit brought to you by Oceania Clean Energy Solutions and a dedicated wastewater conference that will provide robust discussion and insights from some of the sectors leading minds.
The Wastewater Summit brought to you by Enviro Concepts will span over the two days of Waste Expo Australia and will showcase water utilities from around the country. There will be an opportunity to hear from representatives from Sydney Water, Water Corporation, Baron Water, Melbourne Water and more who will share innovative approaches that have been implemented to improve maintenance and performance of wastewater systems.
The Resource Recovery stream, sponsored by Major Roads Victoria, spans over the two days of the Waste Summit conference and will look at the overarching strategies of the sector, circular economy, e-waste initiatives as well as case studies led by councils from around Australia. It will feature experts from Australia Council of Recycling, Sustainability Victoria, National Waste and Recycling Industry Council, Australian Organics Recycling Association and more.
The Waste-to-Energy stream, sponsored by Oceania Clean Energy Solutions, will feature on the first day of Waste Expo Australia. Attendees can gain a better understanding from Enhar, Hitachi Zosen Inova, Aries Clean Energy as they discuss the evolution of WtE, strategies that are innovating the sector and case studies on establishing WtE plants.
The Collections stream, sponsored by Orion Networks, will run on the second day and will showcase senior personnel from TOMRA Cleanaway, TOMRA Collections as they present insights on the industry, optimisations opportunities, automated waste collection and key learnings from the container deposit scheme (CDS).
The Landfill and Transfer Station stream will be held on the second day of Waste Expo Australia and will feature speakers from Australian Landfill Owners Association, Albury City Council, Cleanaway and Caterpillar Job Site Solutions. Attendees can discover the most effective strategies for landfill diversion, best practices for landfill management, effective campaigns of waste recovery and strategies for optimising operations and maximising productivity in a safe and sustainable manner.
There are two new stream editions to Waste Expo Australia this year, construction and demolition and commercial and industrial waste. These streams will be spilt across the two days. Day one will feature the Construction and Demolition stream, sponsored by Repurpose It. This stream will host speakers from Downer, Alex Fraser, Close the Loop, Cement Australia and more who will look at the role and importance of technology and how best to recover, repurpose and reuse C&D waste into different products.
The Commercial and Industrial stream sponsored by Cleanaway will run on the second day and will be vital for any business that generates large volumes of waste. Attendees will discover how to minimise and convert C&I waste, explore solutions, innovations and opportunities for effective waste management. These sessions will feature speakers from Cleanaway, the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services, Sierra Energy, ResourceCo Energy Systems and many more.
